Meet Our Soothing Seven: Avocado

Meet Our Soothing Seven: Avocado

Rich in nutrients. Rich with a history of health benefits. Avocado oil is simply superb at transforming any soap into an extraordinary one.
Little wonder, avocado oil is a go-to ingredient for natural soap makers.

Why Avocado Oil is a Moisturizing, Hydrating Wunderkind

Avocado oil packs a natural moisturizing and hydrating punch with numerous beneficial minerals, essential unsaturated fatty acids and vitamins such as vitamin A, D and E.

This incredible combination works to nourish and revitalize dull and dry skin, boosting your skin health and improving its quality.

Why Avocado Oil Use Leads to Healthier Skin.

If all that weren't enough, avocado oil possesses exceptional antimicrobial properties. A 2013 study found benefits in using avocado oil to help heal wounds. Another study found that vitamin B-12 cream containing avocado oil can be a long-term topical therapy for psoriasis.

The beta-carotene, lecithin, fatty acids, and vitamin A, D, and E in avocado oil boost your skin's collagen metabolism.

Not content to be deeply nourishing and soothing, avocado oil also has practical value in soap-making. Avocado oil adds a luxuriously creamy quality to lather. This mild cleansing lather absorbs quickly into the skin, making it excellent for people with sensitive or rough skin.

While not as common as peanuts or seafood, some people can be allergic to avocados. If you think you are allergic, it's best to avoid any cosmetics – including soap that contains avocado.

How We Use Avocado Oil in Our Ocean Clay Cleansing Bar?

Like any handmade soap devotees, we go for organic, unrefined ingredients over their lower-quality, highly processed counterparts. Our natural soap formulation includes all organic ingredients, including our fantastic glacial ocean clay, five natural oils, two types of butter. We call them our "Soothing Seven."

It's also important to know that our Ocean Clay Cleansing Bar soap is what's known as "superfatted." This simply means that when we process our handmade soaps, we leave some of the ingredients unreacted, so they remain in their raw — and most natural — state. This keeps their benefits intact, but it also means that customers should use or Ocean Clay Cleansing Bar within a year of their purchase date.
